The name
Why is it called MoneyShift?
MoneyShift is named after the most expensive mistake you can make in a car: grabbing the wrong gear at speed, sending the revs past redline, and turning an engine into scrap in about half a second. For the record, I have never done it. But I have also never been more afraid of anything in my life.
My second car, and my first manual, was a 2015 Subaru WRX. I bought it before I knew how to drive stick. My parents had to pick it up for me, and I taught myself right there on the spot, because the car had to get home somehow. I was so nervous about money shifting on that first drive that a 15 minute trip took me 30.
That drive is the whole philosophy of this site. Love the car. Respect the consequences. Check twice before you commit. Every review here exists to keep you from your own version of the money shift, whatever the expensive mistake looks like for you: the wrong trim, the wrong loan, the wrong car entirely.

MoneyShift is written and filmed by Thanasi, a Boston-based automotive journalist and lifelong growth marketer.
