Thanasi Chalkiadakis is the founder and host of MoneyShift, a Boston-based automotive media brand covering car news and week-long press vehicle reviews. He was born in Boston and has driven Massachusetts roads his whole life. How did MoneyShift start?
Thanasi has been obsessed with cars his whole life. Every model, every trim, as much history as he could find. He chased the latest and greatest and collected the best stories from the past, then talked his parents, siblings, and friends’ ears off about all of it. Relentlessly.
Podcasting gave that obsession an outlet. He started a weekly automotive podcast with a friend, covering the news and daily life, and having a place to talk about everything he loved every week was the dream. The show later rebranded to MoneyShift, and he went solo to dive in deeper. In 2026 he earned press fleet access, and the growth since has been fast.
The name is the point. A money shift is one of the most expensive mistakes you can make in a car. Every review and every news take on this site is honest for the same reason: it is your hard-earned money on the line, and you do not want to make a mistake with it.
